Day 1: Exploring Nice: A Blend of Elegance and Sun-soaked Splendor

A day in Nice, combined with an exploration of the French Riviera, promises an unforgettable experience. So, pack your bags, bring your camera, and get ready to create cherished memories on the shores of the Mediterranean!

Promenade des Anglais

Begin your day with a leisurely stroll along the iconic Promenade des Anglais. This stunning waterfront promenade offers picturesque views of the Mediterranean Sea, a perfect way to start soaking in the region's beauty. We could literally do this all day!

Vieille Ville (Old Town)

Dive into history as you explore the narrow cobblestone streets of Nice's Old Town. Discover vibrant markets, charming boutiques, and local eateries.

Don't miss the vibrant Cours Saleya market, where you can find fresh produce, flowers, and artisanal crafts.

Castle Hill (Colline du Château)

For panoramic views of the city, head up to Castle Hill. While the castle itself is mostly ruins, the journey to the top rewards you with breathtaking views of Nice's coastline. A great spot for sunset!

Beach

Very different from the sandy beaches you might think of. The beaches here have pebbles instead of sand making for a wonderful place to chill and take in views in a whole new way!

Dinner by the Sea

Enjoy a lovely dinner and drinks outdoors next to the Mediterranean Sea!

Nice is close to Italy so there is some delicious Italian food found here. If you are more into local food- try the Nicoise Cuisine.

Indulge in the local flavors at one of Nice's authentic restaurants. Savor a plate of Salade Niçoise, a refreshing dish with fresh vegetables, tuna, and anchovies, or enjoy some socca, a savory chickpea pancake—a true taste of the region. You might even try the socca chips!

Day 2: Day Trip to the Riviera: The Essence of Coastal Beauty

The train and ferry system are a great way to get around the French Rivera, however with being limited on time we wanted to maximize our experience in each location and opted for a guided tour being driven around. It was a wonderful highlights tour and we highly recommend it!

Here our are highlights of all the things to must do!

Monaco

Marvel at the opulent Casino de Monte-Carlo and take in this popular filming location for the famous James Bond films.

Keep your eyes peeled on the road for the popular track used in Monaco Grand Prix. Be sure to explore the charming old town of Monaco-Ville, and if your timing is right, witness the changing of the guards at the Prince's Palace. Prepare to be dazzled by the riches and views in this town!

Eze

Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, Eze is a picturesque medieval village. It is truly out of a fairytale. Spend time wandering through its cobblestone streets, visit the Jardin Exotique for stunning botanical displays, and soak in the awe-inspiring views. It is an absolute must-do!

Cannes

End your day trip in the glitzy town of Cannes. Walk along the famous La Croisette promenade, bask in the luxurious atmosphere, and if you're lucky, catch a glimpse of the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival venue.

Last Night in Nice

Enjoy your favorite strolls and grab a bite to eat!

Tips/Modifications:

If you have more time you can consider visiting any of the many coastal villages including:

  • Antibes - A charming town that offers a blend of history and contemporary art. Explore the Picasso Museum and take a stroll along the ancient ramparts offering panoramic views of the coastline.

  • St. Tropez- another coastal town known for its beaches and nightlife.

  • The possibilities are endless on your next escape to the French Riveria!
