Day 1: Malibu Pier, Ocean Side Views, and Beaches

Drive from LA

Malibu is about an hour's drive from LA.

Check-In

When choosing accommodations, consider your preferences – whether you prefer a beachfront retreat, a mountain escape, or a blend of both. Each of these options provides a distinct Malibu experience, catering to different tastes and styles. Here is a great place to start. You will have a car here so staying central is not super important in Malibu.

Malibu Pier and Brunch/Lunch

Once you are all settled in, we start with the iconic Malibu Pier. Explore the Pier  and take in the stunning ocean views.  While you are here, have a delicious brunch at Malibu Farm Pier Cafe. Located right on the pier, you can continue being surrounded by paradise.

Malibu Country Mart

Just a few minutes away is this location. Explore the shops a blend of high end and local boutiques. Always be on the lookout for the stars!

Choose your outdoor adventure (or do both):

Both are only a 15-minute drive away from our last place. As a bonus, both places also make a great place for a sunset!

Zuma Beach

Zuma Beach is a sun-soaked haven with wide sandy shores and a popular surf spot. It makes for a perfect beach relaxation with the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.

If you want to swim, surf, and stroll at the beach this is the place to come to!

Point Dume National Park

Point Dume in Malibu is a coastal gem known for its stunning cliffs, golden beaches, and panoramic Pacific Ocean Views. This makes a great place for a scenic hike (find a hike that works for your level!) and some relaxation along the coast.

If you are interested in scenic hikes and views this is the spot to choose!

Dinner

Explore a diverse range of culinary delights in Malibu. Don't forget to reserve your table at your top choice! You can even indulge in the luxurious dining experience at the famous Nobu Malibu!

Day  2: Brunch, Hike, and Wine Tasting

Some people choose to wake up with a hike first then have brunch. If you are choosing to do this, be sure to grab a snack and coffee before you start your day! You can choose your favorite way to enjoy it!

Hike: Solstice Canyon Trail

This is our favorite and we highly recommend it! As you hike this scenic trail, you'll encounter a waterfall, historical ruins, and stunning canyon views. It is considered a moderate 3-mile loop hike. Take your time, it is very rewarding! Would allot about 2-3 hours with breaks/pictures.

Depending on your skill level, there are so many hiking options in Malibu!

Brunch

After the hike, enjoy a rewarding brunch at a local spot. Some great spots include Malibu Farm Restaurant, Geoffrey's Malibu, Duke’s Malibu, Neptune’s Net, Ollo Restaurant, and Le Cafe de la Plage Malibu.

Wine Tasting

When visiting Malibu, wine tasting is an essential experience. Our favorite local vineyards to visit include Saddle Rock, Malibu Wines and Beer Garden, and Cielo Farms for tasting and tours.

For a fun guided experience consider these tours:

4 x4 Vineyard Tour

Small Group Malibu Wine Hike

Sunset at El Matador

End your Malibu experience with a sunset visit to El Matador State Beach. It's a magical spot for capturing the colors of the setting sun. Consider bringing a blanket and some snacks to enjoy the view.
